ABOUT THE POTEMKIN COLLECTIVE Click on a link below to see our past exhibitions About the Potemkin Collective: The Potemkin Collective is a loosely organized, non-hierarchical group in Lethbridge, Alberta. They are committed to organizing open and inclusive theme exhibitions in alternative and ad hoc spaces in the city. The concept of the collective is to nurture the gallery space as a site for creativity and play, and to break down the schisms and divisions that polarize art-styles and disciplines. To this end Potemkin Collective refuses to jury it's shows, and is proud to exhibit work from children, students, hobbyists, academics and professional artists in all media from the traditional to the experimental. Sometimes the themes ask artists to reflect on serious motifs, sometimes the exhibits are tongue-in-cheek. The success of any exhibition is measured by the range and number of participants. Exhibitions are held once or twice a year. 2010 2009 2007 2006 2005 2004 1264
